2m/440 - GPS interference?

Postby ka6gjn » Wed Dec 19, 2012 9:54 pm UTC

I'm going to be getting a new car, and it may have built-in GPS. Do you have any experience with VHF & UHF interfering with GPS?

My favored position for my antenna would be a NMO mount on the roof, just ahead of the rear transom. But that's where the GPS antenna is. Of course the center of the roof is the best from the propagation standpoint, but that isn't practical given that I might be carrying things on the roof rack.

Your thoughts?

I have used multiple GPS units in my vehicles without any interference on 2m/220/440 or hf.
